In 1930, Sam Wilson passed away, leaving behind a wife and two young sons. They lost almost everything and day-to- day life was difficult. But Minnie was an optimist and inspired her sons with the belief that if you work hard, things would one day be different.

WWII

In 1941, the United States joined the war after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. In 1942, Ernie enlisted in the Air Force and became a flight instructor. In 1944, Chuck was drafted into the Army and put into Intelligence and Reconnaissance, into the 70th Infantry Division.
